Good saree, long delivery

I ordered a Designer Saree and it was lovely, the fabric and embroidery were beautiful. It took almost 10 days to reach me in the US, which was a bit longer than I expected. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about tracking, though. Overall, I'm happy with the saree itself, but the shipping could be a little faster.

Hey has anyone ordered from Kalaki to the US before? How long did it actually take to get your saree and was customs a nightmare?

Yeah, I got a Kanjivaram from them last year for my sister's wedding. It took about 10-12 days to reach California, which wasn't too bad considering it came from India. Customs was a breeze, no extra charges or anything.

Totally depends on where you are. I'm in New York and it was closer to 2 weeks for me, like 14-15 days. They use DHL or something similar, so tracking was pretty good. Just make sure your address is super clear.

Are these Kalaki sarees actually legit? Like, the Banarasis and Kanjivarams, are they really authentic handloom stuff or more like power loom copies?

From my experience, the ones I've gotten were definitely authentic handloom. You can feel the quality difference. I've bought a couple of Kanjivarams and they felt like the real deal, not like the cheap fakes you see everywhere.

I think they say on their site that they source directly from weavers. I got a Banarasi from them last festival season and it looked and felt amazing, very traditional. Compared to some other sites, they seem pretty genuine.
